KICB had some special visitors stop by the studios on Valentine’s Day this year. About 12 friends age 4 and 5 from Fort Dodge Head Start Program popped in to say “Hi” after visiting the dental Hygiene program. All got an opportunity top talk on air and describe what they want to be when they grow up. I know that I now feel much, much safer and optimistic about the future for all mankind after their response. About 10 of the 12 have plans to be super heroes and save the world from villains and green goo. The other two would like to be police officers walking the beats of our great city. Teacher of the group, Katelyn Thompson told me and the listeners of 88.1 that the friends of Head Start get the opportunity to learn all the skills needed for their aspirations like being respectful safe kind and being a great friend. This was the Head Starts second trip to The Point studios in as many years.
